Consider blogging

Introduction

There are a number of reasons why I’ve decided to start writing but I think I’ll start with the basics. Firstly, it is good to have a change of pace, I don’t believe there is a “one-size-fits-all” when it comes to having a set routine and never will. Secondly, it is important to have a sense of purpose and meaning in life, for without meaning we have no reason to take action or any willingness to do anything for that matter. Thirdly, I’ve always wanted to start my own project, one that I could look back on one day and be glad that I pulled my shit together enough to get started. Finally, I have certain ambitions and goals that I want to achieve in life, I think for the most part everyone should and its nevertheless been more important now more than ever before to start something for yourself by taking action NOW rather than later. With countless opportunities at our fingertips and a click of a few buttons its never been any easier, so there is no excuse not to, right?

Reason #1: The Need For A Change Of Pace

Growing up, I’ve always hated change - I used to despise it and still kind of do however, I’ve grown to realise that change is actually much more needed and better for you than you think it is whether its good or bad, its all part of the experience. Generally, I preferred doing things my own way and doing as much as I could in the shortest amount of time. For example, say I had to do some homework or chores at home, I wouldn’t do it because I HAD to do it or I was TOLD to do it, I’d do it if I was MOTIVATED to do so or had a reason to and most of the time being a decent kid to help yourself and your family around the house was a pretty good enough reason to. Studies show that benefits to incorporating any type of change in your life in this moment in time are vast, from making your day more productive, picking up on skills, helping you grow as a person, learning new things and determining what your core values are. This shows that by applying changes to your life every now and again can have huge benefits, allowing one to become more versatile and practice genuine gratitude over a span of time.

Reason #2: Purpose, Meaning and Fulfilment

Everyone should have a purpose since this is what gives life meaning, it gives us a reason to do the things we want to do and have goals set in place as a foundation for a better and more prosperous future. By setting realistic targets and aiming to achieve what you set out for, you can continue to stay consistent with what you hope to accomplish. For instance, I’ve recently set myself the goal to start exercising and going to the gym more often. To make sure that I’m on target I would have to ensure that I am consistent, organise the set days and improve my workouts by constantly progressing. According to a study by Psychology Today there are numerous powerful benefits to having a sense of meaning and purpose in life. For example, evidence shows that having a purpose has strong links to happiness among adults between 50 - 90. Researchers had also recognised adults with a sense of purpose reported having healthier habits, stronger personal relationships, increased wealth, better health, lower rate of mortality, improved sleep, reduced risk of Alzheimer’s disease, better mental and heart health.

Reason #3: A Personal Project

I’ve always wanted to start my own personal project where I’m able to share my knowledge, skills and expertise with other like-minded people. With a broad range of experiences working in local authorities, councils, non-profit organisations and public services I can provide deep insights on my personal work experiences on what it was like working in various public sector roles. In addition to this, I’ve been involved in several volunteering work experiences locally and abroad such as National Citizenship Service, the Duke of Edinburgh award and WorldPackers. Having recently graduated Law, I am now a legal expert and competent researcher for the legal sector and can provide legal guidance on various matters spanning from core areas and commercial practice, human rights, international law, constitutional law, criminal law, immigration law and more. Along with my legal experiences, I can facilitate 1:1 consulting sessions on personal development, psychology, personal finance, social services, life coaching, business and more.

Reason #4: Long-Term Goals and Ambitions

My current goals are to continue writing blog articles for readers like you who want to learn more about the knowledge, skills and experiences that I have to offer. Next, my goal is eat healthier food and exercise more often to live an overall better quality of life. I would do this by making sure I have healthier options for my meals and switch out unhealthy eating habits with good ones. To make sure that I am exercising more regularly I’d have set days blocked out on my calendar specifically for my workout routines and monitor my progress over a period of time. Lastly, I have committed to opening up to new experiences and learning about different topics so that I can continue to share this others.
